Live transcription
Captures the call audio from your speakers and transcribes the interviewer, and optionally you, in real time.
Nightjar is a desktop app for Windows that helps you answer interview questions in real time. It listens to the interviewer through your computer's call audio, transcribes each question, and drafts an answer from your resume, the job description and the company, in a concise, detailed or STAR style. In coding rounds it reads the problem from a screenshot and walks you from a brute-force idea to optimal code and a dry run.
It works with Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Webex with nothing to connect, needs no API key, and you pay per interview after a free 10-minute trial, with no subscription.
Live transcript, instant answers and screen help, all in one small overlay.
Captures the call audio from your speakers and transcribes the interviewer, and optionally you, in real time.
Auto-answers when a question ends, or press Ctrl+Enter. Built from your real projects and numbers.
Ctrl+Shift+Enter reads the problem, or your half-written code, from the screen and continues it.
Interviewers score how you think, not just the final code. Nightjar walks you through the answer the way they expect to hear it, one step at a time, so you can talk while you type.
“So we need the indices of two numbers that add up to the target.”
Ask
Assume: yes, exactly one pair.
“The simplest way is to check every pair with two loops.”
Correct, but too slow once n reaches 10⁵.
“The inner loop keeps re-scanning for target − x.”
If we could look that value up in O(1), the second loop disappears.
“I'll keep a hash map of value → index while I scan once.”
Trade a little memory for a single pass.
nums = [2, 7, 11, 15], target = 9
| i | x | need | seen | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | 2 | 7 | {} | store 2→0 |
| 1 | 7 | 2 | {2:0} | found → [0, 1] |
for i, x in enumerate(nums):
if target - x in seen:
return [seen[target - x], i]
seen[x] = i
Edge cases: duplicates like [3, 3] work, and negatives need no special case.
Real-time help without anyone else seeing a thing.
Excluded from capture at the OS level, even when you share your whole desktop.
The overlay never appears in the taskbar while a session runs.
Switching windows during the call won't reveal it.
Outside its panels, clicks pass straight to the app underneath.
Resume, settings and keys are stored only on your PC, encrypted.
